There is something special about fall in downtown Traverse City. The air turns crisp, the pace begins to slow and an evening out feels a little more inviting. It is the season for lingering over a glass of red wine, settling in with a handcrafted cocktail and enjoying the kind of dinner that warms you from the inside out.

At Cellar & Flame, fall dining is not about completely changing who we are or reinventing our menu for the season. It is about rediscovering the dishes that feel especially satisfying once cooler weather arrives: expertly prepared steaks, scratch-made sauces, creamy mashed potatoes and rich, comforting flavors meant to be enjoyed slowly.

Our Patio Stays Open into Fall

You do not have to say goodbye to patio season just because summer is winding down. Our downtown Traverse City patio will remain open as weather allows, and we have heaters available to make those cooler fall evenings more comfortable.

There is something memorable about dining outside as the seasons begin to change. Bring a light jacket, order your favorite cocktail or bottle of wine and enjoy the energy of downtown from a warm seat on the patio. Patio seating is always weather-dependent, but we plan to enjoy it for as long as Northern Michigan allows.

Comfort Food, the Cellar & Flame Way

Our menu may not change dramatically with every season, but the experience of enjoying it does. When the temperature drops, some of our longtime favorites take on an entirely new appeal.

Filet & Blue

For guests who love a classic steak with bold flavor, our Filet & Blue is a natural choice for a fall evening. Tender filet and the rich, distinctive flavor of blue cheese create an indulgent pairing that is both familiar and elevated. Add your favorite glass of red wine, and you have the kind of dinner that makes a chilly evening feel like an occasion.

Tenderloin Beef Tips with Black Garlic Gravy

Few dishes capture the feeling of comfort food quite like our tenderloin beef tips. They are served over mashed potatoes with vegetables and smothered in our rich black garlic gravy. It is hearty, savory and satisfying—the kind of plate you begin craving as soon as the first cool evenings arrive.

The black garlic gravy brings an added depth and richness to the dish, turning a familiar comfort-food combination into something unmistakably Cellar & Flame.

Settle In with a Cocktail or Glass of Wine

Fall is also an ideal time to explore the bar. Start your evening with one of our handcrafted cocktails, or ask us to help you choose a wine to complement your dinner. A bold red alongside a steak, a warming cocktail before dinner or a final sip after dessert can turn a simple night out into a complete evening.

Whether you choose a seat on our heated patio or settle into the dining room, there is no need to rush. Fall invites us to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the experience of sharing a thoughtfully prepared meal.
